- Chery to launch new T2X platform
- Chery Eco Exhibition planned alongside auto show
- Large South African contingent to visit show and dealer conference
Chery is planning a large-scale Eco Exhibition in tandem with its major presence at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition (Auto China).
Auto China is scheduled from 25 April to 4 May at the China International Exhibition Centre in Beijing. The Chery Eco Exhibition will open its doors on 27 April and run for the remainder of Auto China.
Tony Liu, the Deputy General Manager of Chery South Africa, says the group’s decision to host a dedicated Eco Exhibition shows its commitment to green energy and sustainable technological development.
Liu will lead a large contingent from South Africa to visit both the main exhibition and new vehicle launches at Auto China, the Eco Exhibition and then the international dealer conference.
“Chery will show visitors that its new products, and new technologies, are perfectly aligned with traditional customer values such as performance, safety and luxury,” says Liu.
One of the highlights of the exhibits will be the new Chery T2X platform.
Designed to be the foundation of many new Chery models, include the future Tiggo Pro models, the T2X platform comes equipped with four industry-leading systems.
The first new system is an adaptive magnetic suspension. Chery engineers have designed the suspension to use stepless variable resistors to change the damping within a millisecond. This is matched with a hydraulic chassis damping system that reduces vibrations by 30% compared to a traditional vehicle setup.
The T2X platform also boats a dual pinion electric steering system that was tuned by BOSCH for precise control and good feedback.
Lastly, the system features full-scene all-wheel drive with intelligent control. The system can shift power within 0.1 seconds between axles and the rear axle can handle up to 3 000 Nm of torque.
At Auto China, this new platform will be paired with the newest QPower technology from Chery.
The next generation of Plug-in Hybrid propulsion in the QPower range includes cutting-edge features such as direct injection in a deep Miller cycle engine and low-temperature exhaust gas recirculation for a remarkable 44.5% thermal efficiency and a power output of 115 kW.
Aside from its major presence at the show, Chery will also host a Global Dealer Conference in Beijing, with dealers coming from across the globe to learn more about Chery quality, engineering and innovation.
The conference will include insights into the future vehicle ecosystem where customers will experience a new level of interaction with the vehicle from behind the steering wheel.
This future ecosystem will also feature ways in which the car can connect to the city infrastructure and other Chery vehicles to make the daily commute run smoothly and safer than ever before. It will provide a platform for future autonomous driving and all the in-car benefits that follow from being able to focus on entertainment, work, or relaxation.
“As the industry gravitates away from producing conventional vehicles towards creating intelligent mobile environments, it must consider the four major automotive trends setting the pace: electrification, connectivity, smart technology integration and shared mobility,” says Liu.
“Chery has been focussing on these trends for many years and the results will be revealed at Auto China. We look forward to sharing them with our colleagues and friends from South Africa.”
