Chery South Africa is celebrating its best-ever month of sales, with total units for November 2024 exceeding the 2,000-unit mark.
Last month, 2,006 Chery vehicles were sold in South Africa, with the brand occupying a spot in the top 10 for new vehicle sales, finishing in seventh position overall.
Chery continues to deliver outstanding monthly sales in the new passenger vehicle market, with the automaker recording 1,831 sales in October and 1,614 sales in September 2024. Year-on-year sales have also increased substantially, with a 28.79% increase compared to November 2023.
“November has been a milestone month for Chery South Africa, reflecting consumers’ enthusiasm for our lineup of SUVs,” said Jay Jay Botes, General Manager of Chery South Africa. “Surpassing 2,000 monthly sales highlights the quality of our vehicles, and with impressive year-on-year growth, we’re excited to build on this momentum in the local market.”
The automaker’s strong November sales were driven by its versatile lineup, bolstered by the recent addition of the desirable Tiggo Cross. Leading the charge, the Tiggo 4 achieved an impressive 1,191 units sold, followed by the Tiggo 7 with 468 examples. The newly launched Tiggo Cross is already gaining traction, with 205 sales in its debut month, while the flagship Tiggo 8 defied expectations, with 142 units delivered despite its premium positioning.
Chery’s impressive sales success in November 2024 sets the stage for even greater growth in the year ahead. This year has been a milestone-packed journey for the automaker, marked by the launch of the Tiggo Cross, the Tiggo 4 panel van, and the all-wheel drive Tiggo 8 Pro Max, among other additions. This includes the Tiggo 4 Pro DCT, recently crowned Top Gear SA’s Most Improved Car of the Year for 2024.
“As we look to 2025, Chery remains dedicated to growing our presence in South Africa, supporting our customers with exceptional service, and introducing more exciting models to the market,” concluded Botes.
