The ISUZU Foundation, a partnership between Isuzu Motors South Africa (IMSAf) and its Dealer Network, continues to demonstrate its unwavering commitment to creating a positive impact in local communities, with a donation of close to R300 000. This contribution matches the funds raised through the entry fees of triathletes who competed at the 2025 IRONMAN 70.3 Durban, bringing the charity closer to reaching their R5 million goal in celebration of IRONMAN4theKidz 20th Anniversary.
This donation also reflects the ISUZU Foundation ongoing dedication to uplifting communities through the sale of every ISUZU vehicle towards supporting initiatives that promote education, wellness, and social development in the communities where ISUZU Dealers operate.
Funds raised through the 2025 Durban leg of the IRONMAN Triathlon series will be channelled towards several charitable organisations which include Operation Bobbie Bear, Likhon’ithemba and the Durban Child and Youth Care Centre that are making a massive difference in the lives of vulnerable youth and children in Durban.
“Through this partnership, we have not only raised funds but built lasting relationships with organisations doing crucial work. Our role is to help create a safer, more hopeful future for the children of this region,” says Alastair Hodgson, Department Executive for Business Enablement, Isuzu Motors South Africa.
The Durban handover builds on the momentum of past events, such as the ISUZU IRONMAN African Championships and IRONMAN 5150 Nelson Mandela Bay held in Gqeberha where an amount close to R350 000 was raised in support of child-focused charities.
Since the beginning of its partnership with IRONMAN4theKidz in June 2022, the ISUZU Foundation has donated over R1.6 million to support registered non-profit organisations in the regions where IRONMAN Triathlon events are held.
“As the ISUZU Foundation, we are proud to continue championing causes that strengthen communities and protect the most vulnerable amongst us. This year’s efforts reaffirm our long-term commitment to driving change in our communities,” says Marvan van Zyl, Chairperson of the Isuzu Foundation.
