Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) proudly secured seven major awards at the 29th SAVRALA Manufacturer of the Year (MOTY) event, including the highly coveted Gold Overall Winner as the Manufacturer of the Year.
The awards encompass both the rental and leasing categories, as well as combined rental and leasing performance. The Value Award is given to the automotive member with the highest combined points in the financial section. For the seventh consecutive year, TSAM emerged victorious in the rental category, winning the Value Award Rental. In the leasing category, TSAM advanced from a bronze award in 2023 to a gold award in 2024, also securing the Value Award Rental.
Other awards included Gold Overall Rental Winner: Manufacturer of the Year Rental for both 2023 and 2024, Gold Overall Leasing Winner: Manufacturer of the Year Leasing, an award last won by TSAM in 2019.
These remarkable company-wide successes are complemented by the exceptional performance of our team members. Lebogang Lekalakala has once again demonstrated outstanding dedication, securing the Best Account Executive Rental award for the third consecutive year. Lufuno Nephawe has also continued to excel, winning the Best Technical Manager Rental award for the second year in a row.
“We are deeply honoured to be recognised as the Manufacturer of the Year by the South African Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (SAVRALA). This prestigious award is a testament to the trust and support from our valued partners in the car rental and leasing industry. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to each company that voted for Toyota. Your confidence in our vehicles drives us to continually innovate and deliver the highest quality products and services. Thank you for your partnership and for making this achievement possible,” says Kerry Roodt, Vice President of Sales & Dealer Network at Toyota South Africa Motors.
The MOTY Awards, which are run under the auspices of the Southern African Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association (SAVRALA), recognises the motor manufacturers for the level of service and support provided to members, who manage roughly 400,000 vehicles per year through rental and leasing channels.
These awards are based on two comprehensive surveys completed by 41 car rental and leasing companies in South Africa, measuring the service from the manufacturers they interact with regularly and whose vehicles they have in their fleets. The surveys cover various areas of their business such as communication and contact with the manufacturers, support provided, maintenance issues, financial aspects, and B-BBEE compliance.
