  • Eye-catching design updates for new version of X-Trail
  • New water-resistant upholstery for peace of mind
  • Available with e-4ORCE, Nissan’s unique electrified all-wheel drive powertrain for confident traction in all conditions – to help customers “get dirty”

Nissan’s iconic family SUV will take a further step into the wild with the introduction of the N-Trek variant, aimed at families who are more adventurous and daring.

The new addition to the X-Trail range is named N-Trek, reflecting the outdoors-inspired character of the vehicle, which takes the X-Trail to the next level of electrified all-wheel drive adventure.

Visually, the X-Trail N-Trek sports design cues which generate a sense of no-nonsense robustness. From the front, customers will have their attention caught by the dark finish of the Nissan “V-motion grille”, which surrounds the central grille. The “V-motion grille” is chrome on other variants of the X-Trail.

At the front and rear, the protective lower side of the bumper features a gunmetal finish, while the door mirrors are black. New LED foglamps have been integrated into the lower section of the front bumper.

The exterior paint options for the X-Trail N-Trek consist of Solid Grey & Champagne Silver in metallic paints, while Pearl White, Diamond Black and Ceramic Grey are available in pearlescent finishes. And the Pearl White, Champagne Silver and Ceramic Grey are available in two-tone configurations, each with a black roof.

Overall, the combined effect of the specific styling details on the X-Trail N-Trek lends an air of an all-wheel drive family vehicle which is purposeful and poised when confronted with demanding territory – whether on-road or off.

Inside, a new water-resistant upholstery has been introduced, to reflect the more adventurous spirit of the N-Trek buyers who are likely to return to their car after sporty activities outdoors in all-weathers and can do so without concern for the interior.

To complement the added robustness of the interior, an accessory pack will also be available specifically for the X-Trail N-Trek which combines rubber floor mats and a reversible trunk-liner.

The addition of the N-Trek to the X-Trail line-up brings a new dimension of appeal to Nissan’s iconic SUV. Equipped with Nissan’s pioneering e-POWER system, which uses a small, efficient turbocharged 3-cylinder engine with variable compression ratio technology to generate electricity, which is used to charge its onboard battery, which in turn powers the wheels via electric motors. And for maximum poise and reassurance in all conditions, the advanced e-4ORCE all-wheel drive system consists of two electric motors – one on the front axle and one on the rear, which can adjust the power application 10,000 times per second according to the available grip.

Taken all together, the X-Trail’s powertrain delivers the smooth, seamless drive reminiscent of a pure electric vehicle, combined with the confidence to tackle challenging conditions on or off-road, all without the complication of needing to recharge.

And now with the added sense of adventure with the N-Trek version, the appeal for adventurous families to go further, for more intense adventures in an electrified, all-wheel drive seven-seater SUV is greater than ever.

Explaining the X-Trail N-Trek, Arnaud Charpentier, Region Vice President Marketing & Mobility AMIEO (Africa, Middle East, India, Europe & Oceania), said: “We started the development of the X-Trail N-Trek with the simple motto: Let’s Get Dirty. It captures the spirit of a core group of X-Trail customers who embrace adventure, the outdoors and want to use their vehicle to enjoy time and adventures together. The X-Trail N-Trek has been designed for them. It has a striking look thanks to unique N-Trek design details, as well as its new water-resistant interior and appealing two-tone paint options. They all combine to make a compelling formula. And with Nissan’s pioneering electrified powertrain which combines e-POWER and e-4ORCE – electrified adventures await.”
