The Festival of Motoring powered by WesBank is bringing a grand celebration of car culture from 30 August 30 to 1 September 2024, to the iconic Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit. The circuit is set to transform into a hub for motoring enthusiasts, promising a thrilling fusion of speed, innovation, and automotive excellence.

Michael Dehn, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt South Africa, states: “The Festival of Motoring is the next level in motor show evolution; it is an immersive experience that engages attendees with the dynamic world of motoring. Whether a seasoned enthusiast or a curious newcomer, the Festival offers a comprehensive array of attractions, from exhilarating test drives to captivating audio-visual experiences. The event brings together automotive enthusiasts to experience the pinnacle of motoring excellence.

Lebo Gaoaketse, Head of Marketing and Communication at WesBank, said: “The Festival of Motoring has grown in stature over the years to become the ultimate showcase of innovation in the local automotive sector. WesBank’s presence will increase significantly this year, with the joint participation of FNB and MotoVantage. Our aim is to ensure that the Festival caters to more than just enthusiasts with a connoisseur level of interest in motoring, but becomes a key institution in the path towards informed car ownership, from acquisition to maintenance, and eventually settlement and repurchase.”

The Festival of Motoring promises an array of highlights that will captivate attendees. Visitors can look forward to innovative displays and interactive exhibits from leading brands such as Abarth, Alfa Romeo, BAIC, Bentley, BYD, Chery, Citroen, Fiat, Ford, Haval, Isuzu, Jaecoo, Jeep, Lamborghini, Mahindra, Omoda, Opel, Porsche, Peugeot, Shelby, Suzuki, Volkswagen, and Volvo.

Gear up for an exhilarating experience from Volkswagen! Join ‘The People’s Car’ in John Love (next to Pit 1) to explore the all-new Volkswagen family of vehicles. Sign up for track drives to feel the thrill of the new Volkswagen range in action and get a chance to ride with VW Motorsport drivers Jonathan Mogotsi or Daniel Rowe in a Supa Cup racing Polo during the performance sessions.

Enjoy an array of family-friendly activities, including simulator competitions, kids’ sand art fun, or explore the Merchandise Shop. For outdoor enthusiasts, make sure to visit the second Volkswagen stand in the 4×4 Village to explore and experience Volkswagen’s adventure vehicles in action.

A new addition to the Festival this year is the FoM Experience Centre, where visitors can enjoy adrenaline-pumping hot-lap sessions around the main circuit. Offered at an extra cost, these thrilling rides are provided by BMW Motorsport Club, Simola Hill Climb, Samlin Lamborghini, and RDE Supercars, delivering a truly exhilarating experience.  In addition, drifting rides are on offer at the skidpan by XDrift .

The Lamborghini Revuelto will be showcased. Born to break the mold, the Revuelto combines a revolutionary 12-cylinder engine with cutting-edge hybrid technology.

Bentley will be showcasing its full model range! From the luxurious Bentayga to the exhilarating Continental GT, and the elegant Flying Spur, discover the pinnacle of automotive craftsmanship and innovation.

Visitors will delight in a feast of Porsche luxury and performance at the 2024 Festival of Motoring with a variety of the latest models from Zuffenhausen and celebrating historic milestones.

Showcasing the latest Porsche models, visitors can expect to see the new Cayenne GTS, new Panamera as well as a special celebration for 50 Years of the 911 Turbo.

On-track entertainment includes demonstrations from Formula One-type vehicles and the Sunbet ZX10 SuperBikes Masters Cup Challenge. A unique time attack, “The Shelby Mustang Speed Challenge,” will further add to the excitement.

Food lovers will delight in exploring the vibrant food market, which features a variety of gourmet offerings and local favourites. The event fosters a sense of community and cultural celebration, inviting attendees to embrace the camaraderie of fellow car lovers. Complimentary activities on the main circuit, self-handling track, and 4×4 course provide opportunities for visitors to immerse themselves in the motoring experience.

Tickets for this annual must-attend event are available at www.howler.co.za, with prices set at R275 per adult and R75 for children aged 4 to 12 years. To enhance your festival experience, enjoy complimentary shuttle services provided by SANI Car Rental from the Mall of Africa, and internal shuttles by Volkswagen, Isuzu, and Haval to the 4×4 village.
