The Eternal City, La Dolce Vita, Italian luxury and magnificent Roman antiquities. In this extraordinary setting, Maserati is taking part in Anantara Concorso Roma 2025, the first luxury automotive event dedicated to classic cars, due to be held from 24 to 27 April 2025 at the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi in Piazza della Repubblica, in the heart of the Italian capital.
Maserati is synonymous with Italian luxury and shares the same values of elegance and style as the Rome event: the iconic heritage of the Modena automaker and the performance of its cars stand out at the exclusive three-day celebrations, showcasing themselves as part of the gathering of the rarest and most prestigious Italian cars of all time.
The House of the Trident is there for this first edition, accompanied by the Maserati Classiche programme, with both vintage cars and others from the current production range.
All the spotlights are on the A6GCS-53 Berlinetta Pininfarina on show on a prestigious stand at the Casina Valadier in the Villa Borghese park, while a Maserati GranCabrio Trofeo is on display at the Anantara Palazzo Naiadi to emphasise the Maserati DNA devoted to the spirit of grand touring.
The A6GCS-53 Berlinetta Pininfarina, produced in 1954/1955, was an evolution of the A6G.CS (single-headlight), a highly successful open-top two-seater race car.
The outstanding results achieved by this model led Maserati’s technical staff to an evolution. Specifically, a new cylinder head with two camshafts was switched, which significantly increased the power of the in-line six-cylinder engine. The bodywork was also massively revised. Hence the genesis of a new sports car, later renamed A6GCS-53, with the capability to deliver an output of 170 CV and a top speed of 235 km/h.
Based on the A6GCS-53 sedan, Pininfarina created a stunning coupé, then unveiled on the coachbuilder’s stand at the 1954 Turin Motor Show. The Pininfarina Berlinetta was a watershed between the worlds of race cars and road cars. Indeed, as a result of appropriate modifications to adapt the car to usage more suitable for everyday driving, the A6G-54 model was made, which reproduced the theme of the high-performance medium-sized car with a modern flair.
Anantara Concorso Roma 2025 is therefore a great opportunity to set out the activities included in the Maserati Classiche programme. The department protects and promotes the preservation and originality of the House of the Trident’s automotive heritage with an exclusive assistance service, especially for the brand’s customers and collectors, which now also includes a process to certify authenticity.
Maserati’s participation in the Rome event does not end with a focus on its past: a range consisting of the Maserati Grecale SUV and Maserati GranCabrio will accompany guests between Villa Borghese in central Rome and Castel Gandolfo, with a courtesy car service in the name of elegance and performance.
Anantara Concorso Roma 2025 is a journey into the most evocative automotive memory: the event schedule includes a parade on Friday 25 April of the major collectors to Castel Gandolfo; on Saturday 26 April, the great concours d’élégance begins with its parade of cars before the eyes of the jury and the gala dinner.
On Sunday 27 April, the competition will be open to visitors and will culminate in the afternoon with the awards ceremony.
