Chery Global is celebrating a significant production milestone: one million Tiggo 7’s have been exported globally, underscoring the automaker’s commitment to international markets.
“Achieving this milestone is a testament to Chery’s unwavering commitment to global markets such as South Africa,” said Jay Botes, General Manager for Chery South Africa. “This achievement not only reflects the success of the Tiggo 7 lineup but also underscores our long-term vision for growth, particularly in South Africa, where we are proud to contribute to social development and cater to a diverse clientele.”
The automaker celebrated the occasion at a special ceremony held at the production facility in Wuhu. The Tiggo 7 is manufactured at several sites worldwide, and the SUV is tailored to meet the needs of the respective markets in which it is sold. South African consumers have come to appreciate the unbeatable combination of value for money, quality, and luxury features. This is reflected in strong sales, with Chery South Africa ranking as the fifth-best-performing manufacturer in October, for the local passenger car market.
Worldwide sales have grown from strength to strength since the Tiggo 7’s introduction, with the SUV racking up several awards along the way, including a five-star ANCAP safety rating and top rankings in the China Initial Quality Study (IQS) and China Automotive Performance, Execution, and Layout (APEAL) study.
The successful export of the one-millionth Tiggo 7 highlights Chery’s commitment to global expansion and strengthening its position in existing markets. Looking forward, Chery is dedicated to fulfilling its corporate social responsibilities and contributing to the economic and social progress in South Africa. This is exemplified by the Chery Foundation, recently launched to coincide with the brand’s third anniversary in SA
