With the year drawing to a close, GWM South Africa celebrates a dynamic 2024 filled with impressive vehicle launches, significant developments on the brand front and successful community upliftment projects.
Stronger Together
This year, GWM celebrates the incredible collaboration happening across its south African operations that have culminated in yet another successful year for the brand in the South African market. In 2024 Great wall Motors has sold just under twenty thousand vehicles year to date, however impressive vehicle sales numbers have not been the company’s only focus. A strong commitment to social responsibility and environmental sustainability has seen GWM partnering with non-profit organisations in this year with the aim of creating lasting positive change in local communities. Through these partnerships with non-profit organisations GWM seeks to address critical challenges in people upliftment, while promoting sustainable practices for future generations.
GWM & Youngage Foundation Santa Box initiative.
GWM & Youngage Foundation, an organisation supporting South African school children with limited educational resources collaborated on a Santa box initiative at Leratadima Primary School in Thokoza, in the east rand of Gauteng province. The vision is to see every child in school, fully equipped with a new pair of school shoes. GWM gifted the young learners with new shoes making them a very welcome gift, which will assist in empowering young learners with the confidence and comfort they require on their educational journey.
Botshabelo Children’s Home
In another demonstration of community engagement, GWM employees gathered to purchase, package and deliver essential pantry supplies to Botshabelo, a children’s charity based in Midrand, ensuring that the young residents would be able to enjoy a festive holiday season with well-stocked shelves. This initiative is designed with the community at its core. By addressing local challenges through targeted efforts, GWM aims to uplift the community and contribute to empowering the children’s home to thrive.
GWM believes that businesses have a responsibility to not only achieve financial success but to also give back to the communities that support them. This initiative is part of their broader strategy to empower future leaders. By working closely with local partners, they can maximize their impact and create meaningful, sustainable change that benefits all involved.
According to Kevin Lee, Managing Director of GWM “At GWM, we are deeply committed to making a difference. These Corporate Social Initiatives are not just about giving back, but about creating a lasting impact that empowers individuals, strengthens communities, and helps us all move towards a more sustainable future. We are excited to roll out these initiatives and invite others to join us in this important mission.”
GWM SA would like to wish South Africa a happy and safe holiday season.
