Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. announced the “Skyline NISMO” and the special model “Skyline NISMO Limited” on the 8th. A limited number of 1,000 units of the “Skyline NISMO” will go on sale in early September , while a limited number of 100 units of the “Skyline NISMO Limited” will go on sale in the summer of 2024.

Starting with the second-generation S5 series, the Skyline has been given the name GT, which symbolizes grand touring cars. The newly announced “Skyline NISMO” aims to be the ultimate GT car that can be driven faster, more comfortably, and with peace of mind by combining the qualities of a GT car that have been passed down from that era with aerodynamics and chassis technology that make use of NISMO’s unique racing technology.

Developed by The low and wide stance of a performance sedan gives it an overwhelming presence, and NISMO’s exclusive engine and acceleration tuning realize the culmination of the “Skyline GT” driving performance and appearance. This model has a “GT” emblem on the front fender, and a NISMO metal emblem engraved with a serial number limited to 1,000 units on the center console.

The main features of the Skyline NISMO are as follows.

  • The engine was tuned using the same development equipment by the developers involved in the GT500 race engine, and the maximum output was increased from 298 kW (405 ps) to 309 kW (420 ps). In addition, maximum torque has also been greatly improved from 475N・m (48.4kgf・m) to 550N・m (56.1kgf・m), realizing powerful and smooth acceleration.
  • With the specially tuned engine, the STANDARD driving mode achieves powerful and comfortable acceleration even in everyday driving. In addition, in SPORT and SPORT+ modes, NISMO’s dedicated AT shift schedule is applied to maintain high engine revs, providing even more responsive driving during sports driving.
  • In order to transmit high torque to the road surface through the rear wheels, the width of the rear tires has been increased by 20mm, and specially-developed high-performance tires with a high level of balance between the front and rear tires’ grip power have been adopted. In addition, NISMO exclusive 19-inch aluminum wheels made by Enkei, which achieve both high rigidity and light weight while expanding the rim width, have been adopted to improve initial steering response and ground contact at corners, enhancing cornering performance.
  • The suspension and stabilizer have been specially tuned to match the high-performance tires. By suppressing roll during cornering and maintaining trackability even on undulating road surfaces, it achieves high four-wheel grip and provides vehicle stability that can be reassuring to the limit.
  • In addition to adopting friction materials with excellent fade resistance for the brakes, the control of the anti-lock braking system (ABS) has been reviewed to match the special tires and brake pads, shortening the braking distance. In addition, the vehicle dynamics control (VDC) has been specially tuned to improve stability, optimizing performance even when driving on the limit and realizing sophisticated controllability even when driving on winding roads. did.
  • The same high-rigidity adhesive used in the NISSAN GT-R NISMO is used for the adhesive on the front and rear windshields, improving body rigidity without increasing vehicle weight.
  • For the exterior, the front and rear bumpers and side sill covers have been developed exclusively for the “Skyline NISMO”, and the new-generation NISMO road car’s common elements, such as thin and vivid red accents, NISMO-specific fog lamps, and the NISMO emblem, make it instantly recognizable as NISMO. I made a design that I can understand. Among them, the shape that surrounds the front bumper lower grille and fog lamps, and the design that pays homage to the surfing line that runs through the center of the rear wheel on the body side, expresses the strength of the old “Skyline”. The design, which has the function of significantly increasing downforce while reducing air resistance, contributes to improved stability at high speeds. In addition, by optimizing the cross-section of the grille opening and the shape of the internal air guide, the flow to the radiator and oil cooler is optimized, realizing cooling performance that allows you to continue driving with peace of mind even during sports driving while suppressing air resistance. did. The GT emblem on the front fender is proof of performance.
  • The interior retains the high-quality feel of the popular 400R grade, while the entire interior is unified in black tones to create a high-quality driving space. Around the cockpit, a NISMO-exclusive leather-wrapped steering wheel with a red center mark, a 280km/h scale speedometer, and a red-ring tachometer with the NISMO logo are used to enhance driving performance. I’m here. NISMO-exclusively tuned RECARO sports seats *3 are coordinated in black with red in the center, and the position of the suede-like upholstery is carefully selected so that body pressure remains in the center of the seat even during sharp turns. We are realizing sex. In addition, by adopting a seat surface structure that optimizes the distribution of body pressure when seated, it also provides the comfort required for grand touring.
  • Five body colors are available, including the exclusive NISMO Stealth Gray.

“Skyline NISMO Limited” is a special edition model commemorating the 60th anniversary of the S54A-1 “Skyline GT”. Limited to 100 units, the “Skyline NISMO Limited” is equipped with a high-precision engine that is hand-assembled one by one by specially qualified craftsmen on the Yokohama factory’s craftsmanship line. The design is reminiscent of a race car, and special equipment includes wheels with matte gunmetal paint, which is the first Nissan to use it. As a proof of Limited, the Takumi label that describes the person in charge of assembling the engine, and the exclusive serial number that is limited to 100 units are engraved. I installed a plate and a special emblem. Three body colors are available: White Pearl, NISMO Stealth Gray, and Dark Metal Gray.
