The Festival of Motoring, renowned as Africa’s premier celebration of automotive excellence, is pleased to announce the eagerly awaited dates for its 7th edition. Taking place from August 30th to September 1st, 2024, at the esteemed Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, this event promises a thrilling showcase of the automotive world.

A key highlight of this announcement is the renewal of WesBank’s naming rights partnership for an additional three years. This extension underscores the Festival’s profound influence on the automotive industry, solidifying its pivotal role as a platform for industry players to connect with motoring enthusiasts.

Michael Dehn, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt South Africa, the event organizer, expressed his enthusiasm, stating, “The Festival of Motoring stands out as a must-attend event on the annual motoring community calendar, and we are delighted to continue our partnership with WesBank for another three years. This ensures that we can enhance the visitor experience and build on the immersive nature of the event, surpassing the expectations of our fully engaged audience together.”

“The Festival of Motoring stands as a significant highlight on the local automotive calendar, capturing the attention of motoring enthusiasts from across the nation and beyond,” says Ghana Msibi, CEO of WesBank.

“This event has transcended the traditional boundaries of a mere car show, transforming into a premium exhibition that spotlights cutting-edge mobility solutions accessible to the local market. As South Africa’s leading provider of innovative vehicle and asset finance solutions, WesBank is proud to ‘power’ this event for the next three years. Our participation is geared towards presenting the finest offerings in the mobility space to both our current and prospective customers, ensuring they experience the forefront of what is available,” Msibi concludes.

Hosted within the world-class Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, the Festival of Motoring is poised to deliver an immersive experience, showcasing the latest industry achievements, cutting-edge products, and technological advancements. Emphasizing innovation, on- track activities, and world-class entertainment, this event offers manufacturers an unparalleled opportunity to engage with a passionate audience.

Judy Maharaj, the event Show Director, emphasized, “The Festival of Motoring provides the ultimate motoring experiential platform. Whether exploring automotive passions, enjoying the sights and sounds of favorite brands, test driving the next vehicle purchase, or simply indulging in adrenaline-fueled fun with family, this event caters to diverse interests, drawing in all segments of the automotive landscape over three days.”

At its essence, the Festival of Motoring encapsulates a vibrant convergence of automotive enthusiasts hailing from 210 cities across South Africa. This dynamic gathering features a remarkable offering of 10,000 test drives executed over three days, skilfully conducted by professional drivers. Notably, the festival reflects a substantial 18% purchase intent among its attendees, underscoring the compelling appeal it holds for potential buyers. Furthermore, the festival’s attendees boast an above-average car ownership profile, with all German brands securing a prominent presence within the top 15 brands owned. Such stellar attributes collectively contribute to the festival’s distinction as the #1 event for automotive consumer engagement, a title bestowed upon it through the esteemed recognition of participating vehicle manufacturers in South Africa.

Attendees can anticipate a plethora of engaging activities, from experiencing passenger and performance models driven around the renowned Kyalami track by professionals to first-hand encounters with cutting-edge technologies. Moreover, the Festival offers an ideal setting for families to bond over their shared passion for automobiles, immersing themselves in the electrifying atmosphere with a range of experiences and fun activities for all ages on offer.

The 2024 edition of the Festival of Motoring will once again provide an unparalleled experience for both industry insiders and enthusiasts. With WesBank’s continued support and the exceptional facilities at the Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit, this edition promises to be an unforgettable celebration of automotive excellence.

Tickets for the Festival of Motoring 2024 will be available for purchase starting March 2024.
