The National Rally Championship’s highly anticipated return to the Free State Province has been impacted by the recent heavy rainfall, which constitutes a force majeure. Despite efforts to conclude final preparations, accessing the planned stages has proven impossible. Due to safety concerns and an inability to compile vital pace notes, the organising committee has made a difficult decision to postpone the event.
The 2025 Fouriesburg Rally will now take place from 26 to 27 September. To accommodate this change, the National Rally Committee has rescheduled the 2025 Ermelo Rally to 29-30 August .
The committee would like to extend its deepest gratitude to the local farming community, particularly Erhard Scheepers, Apla Scheepers, Al Van Eeden, Jan Scheepers, and David Exley, for their tireless efforts and unwavering support. Their dedication to hosting the National Rally Championship in Fouriesburg has been instrumental, and we appreciate their willingness to accommodate the event despite the challenges posed by the weather.
Our heartfelt thanks to the Greater Fouriesburg Tourism NPC team , who eagerly anticipate the event’s return Our thanks to the entire tourism team.
We are grateful to Morgan Group Bethlehem for their support as the vehicle sponsor for the Safety Caravan, enhancing safety measures for competitors and spectators alike. We also acknowledge the support of the Free State provincial authority, Dihlabeng Municipality, and the South African Police Service (SAPS) for their cooperation and assistance.
“While we are disappointed with the postponement, we are committed to delivering an exceptional event. We look forward to returning with this exciting rally event in September, bringing thrilling competition and entertainment to the beautiful town of Fouriesburg in the Free State Province. We appreciate the support and commitment of our partners, the local community, and the farmers.”
