BWT Alpine F1 Team is proud to announce a renewed partnership with global leader in optical lens technology, Shamir Optical Industry, as its Optical Performance Partner. The extended multi-year collaboration marks a continued commitment from both Alpine and Shamir following four years of successful partnership.

Shamir, world-leading producer of high-performance lenses, and BWT Alpine F1 Team have implemented several projects and initiatives involving Shamir’s vision performance labs. Shamir, part of the EssilorLuxottica Group, was instrumental in evaluating the team’s needs for advanced visual performance and have delivered the most advanced safety equipment and lenses for optimum vision.

In 2023, Shamir also introduced SHAMIR DRIVER INTELLIGENCE™ to improve driving performance and safety by enabling sharp and clear vision with less glare, day and night, and in low light conditions. Providing exceptionally wide and clear visual fields and enhanced colour contrasts, these innovative lenses help drivers adjust to changing light, reduce eye fatigue, and improve reaction time, leading to enhanced performance on the road. The development process incorporated direct feedback from BWT Alpine F1 Team.

David Gendry VP, Chief Commercial Officer BWT Alpine F1 Team & VP, Communications Alpine brand: “We are thrilled to extend our collaboration with Shamir, a partner that shares our dedication to pushing the boundaries of technology. We look forward to continuing our work towards visual excellence and introduce more state-of-the-art solutions with the work we are doing with Shamir.”

BWT Alpine F1 Team and Shamir are now looking forward to continuing their fruitful partnership.

Yagen Moshe, Shamir Optical CEO: “We are proud to continue our technical partnership with BWT Alpine F1 Team, and we look forward to unlocking even greater visual performance with the team. Our continued partnership provides a unique avenue for Shamir to pursue our passion for innovation and developing unique and ground-breaking products. A wonderful collaboration like we have with BWT Alpine F1 Team, in a sport where performance is everything and every 0.1% matters, is perfectly in line with the Shamir mission of improving quality of life by improving vision.”

Zohar Katzmann, Shamir Optical Chief Technology Officer:  “Our developers are excited to continue working with BWT Alpine F1 Team. It is a partnership that sparks our imaginations and inspires creative innovation. Our mission is to deliver perfect vision under all conditions, to tailor personal vision solutions to our Alpine F1 Team and to enhance the team’s performance and safety in the extremes of F1 competition. And it’s a two-way street, because data from this team is analysed and added to our data set to develop production lenses, including the Driver Intelligence™ lenses.”
