  • The Territory is perfectly suited to all family lifestyles thanks to a commanding driving position, seating for five and 448 litres of luggage space
  • Wireless charging, full smartphone integration and digital touchscreens give the cabin a modern and functional design
  • The Titanium models includes advanced safety features such as Blind Spot Information System, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert and Adaptive Cruise Control

The new Ford Territory marks the brand’s highly-anticipated return to the five-seater small Sport Utility Vehicle segment, offering a blend of style and substance perfect for families who value space, comfort, and safety on their travels, whether on familiar roads in the city, or exploring new landscapes.

Designed with Ford’s ‘Progressive Energy in Strength’ philosophy, the Territory exudes a commanding presence on the road. Its contemporary design features innovative LED lighting technology, including distinctive headlamps and 3D taillights, adding to its unique identity.

“The Territory is an exciting addition to our South African line-up, with a modern design and advanced technologies that will appeal to young, smart and connected customers,” says Doreen Mashinini, General Manager for Marketing at Ford South Africa.

“With a commanding presence on the road, exceptional space and practicality inside, and an extensive range of high-tech features, we expect the Territory to be a popular addition to the fast-growing small SUV segment in South Africa,” Mashinini says.

Stylish and Functional

From its powerful shoulder line to its innovative LED lighting technology, the Territory’s design language speaks to the modern advancements in Ford’s lineup. The front-end features an integrated grille and distinctive LED daytime running lights, creating a signature light effect that enhances the vehicle’s presence on the road.

The Territory’s athletic and expressive profile is accentuated by its sculpted body side and sharp crease that runs under the beltline, giving it a dynamic aesthetic. The range of attractive alloy wheels, available in 18-inch and 19-inch sizes, adds to the overall sporty and agile look of the vehicle.

With 448 litres of luggage space with all seats upright and up to 1,422 litres with the rear seats folded, the Territory is well-equipped for various needs. It also features 20 different storage binnacles throughout the cabin for added convenience.

Sophisticated Comfort for Everyone

Inside, the Territory exudes an ambience and level of practicality that can handle anything life can throw its way. It offers a sophisticated and spacious interior with modern technology seamlessly integrated for an intuitive user experience.

The cabin’s design emphasises width and spaciousness, with high-quality finishes creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The flagship Titanium model even boasts a powered twin-panel Panoramic Moonroof, bathing the cabin in natural light and enhancing the sense of space and freedom.

A Helping Hand: Advanced Technology and Safety Features

Technological advancements are present in every corner or on every surface, including a panoramic display with a high-definition digital instrument cluster on the Titanium model. The infotainment touchscreen integrates vehicle controls, while wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto Connectivity provide convenience. Safety features include an extensive range of driver assist and collision mitigation features, ensuring peace of mind for the entire family. These include Electronic Stability Control, Emergency Brake Assist, and Ford’s Tyre Pressure Monitoring System. The Titanium model adds additional safety features such as Blind Spot Information System, Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control.

Power Meets Economy

Engine choices can be intimidating and even overwhelming but Ford has simplified the range with a new 1.8-litre four-cylinder turbocharged EcoBoost petrol engine, delivering both performance and efficiency. Matched with an advanced seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the Territory offers exceptional responsiveness and fuel economy. Selectable Drive Modes, activated by a new ‘Easy Swipe’ feature on the touchscreen will instantly optimize power, torque, and fuel efficiency according to driving conditions, making it versatile for various terrains.

The Ford Territory is more than just a vehicle; it’s a lifestyle choice for families who prioritize comfort, safety, and style on their travels.

Territory’s Features at a Glance

Here are six new features of the Territory that make it a compelling, 5-seater SUV for the active family:

  1. More powerful yet fuel efficient: The Territory displays a boost in driving power and gives an enhanced driving experience with the EcoBoost 1.8L engine, giving the vehicle up to 138kW and 318Nm, It also comes with the new Auto-Start Stop Technology that allows for better fuel economy as it helps the driver reduce the amount of fuel they use when coming to a full-stop.
  2. New transmission with new selectable drive modes: The engine of the Territory is mated with a 7-speed automatic transmission with wet-dual clutch system and rotary e-Shifter that helps change gears with the simple turn of a rotary dial located on the center console. The Territory also comes with four selectable drive modes: Eco, Normal, Sport, and Mountain, providing drivers with confidence and enhance their driving experience across a variety of terrains.
  3. Redesigned exterior: The Territory commands attention with its redesigned stylish exteriors coming from the integrated honeycomb grille, signature daytime running lamps, and full LED headlights lowered towards the ground to expand lighting coverage and creates a more powerful look. The vehicle’s wheelbase and ground clearance draw a tougher stance for the Territory and allows the driver to stand out on the road, while providing good visibility and capability to take on different road conditions.
  4. Convenience and comfort-driven interior: The Territory offers convenience and comfort with new interior upgrades that include access to wireless charger, 12-inch coloured touch screen, and dual-zone electronic air temperature control with physical controls.
  5. Enhanced safety features: The Territory is equipped with new driver-assist features and technologies such as Blind Spot Information System with Rear Cross Traffic Alert and Door Open Alarm, as well as Hill Descent Control and Enhanced Active Park Assist – offering a safer driving experience. Meanwhile, those getting the Titanium X variant get access to more driver-assist technologies such as Adaptive Cruise Control With Stop & Go, Auto High Beam, Forward Collision Warning, Autonomous Emergency Brake with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Warning, Lane Keeping Aid and Collision Mitigation System.
  6. Included as standard is Ford Protect comprising a four-year/120 000km warranty, four-year/unlimited distance Roadside Assistance and five-year/unlimited distance corrosion warranty. Customers have the option of purchasing an extended Ford Protect Service or Maintenance plan upgrade.
