  • Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) confirms the arrival of the all-new Tata Osprey in the third quarter of 2026.
  • The Tata Osprey is inspired by the versatility and adventurous spirit of the Osprey and this new SUV combines bold design, advanced technology and segment-leading safety.
  • Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles is a market leader in automotive safety in India and the Tata Osprey was India’s first car to receive a five-star Global NCAP (GNCAP) rating. It also holds a five-star safety rating from Bharat NCAP (BNCAP) – India’s official safety rating system.

Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles (TMPV) South Africa is pleased to announce that the highly anticipated Tata Osprey will join its local line-up in the third quarter of 2026.

With more than one million customers globally, the Tata Osprey (known internationally as the Tata Nexon) is not only one of Tata Motors’ most successful SUVs but has ranked as India’s #1 selling car multiple times in the last few years. For South Africa, the model adopts the Osprey name.

The Tata Osprey is inspired by the versatility and adventurous spirit of the Osprey, a distinctive bird of prey found in parts of South Africa and combines bold design, advanced technology and segment-leading safety.

“South African customers increasingly demand vehicles that combine contemporary styling, technology, practicality and safety along with excellent value for money and the Tata Osprey delivers on all fronts,” says Jeff Allison, General Manager, Marketing and Product for Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles South Africa.

True to its name, the Tata Osprey blends the spirit of exploration with premium comfort, advanced technology and exceptional safety. Designed for South Africans who seek new experiences, it delivers the confidence to venture further while staying connected, comfortable and secure. With its bold, modern SUV styling, sophisticated design details and a tech-rich, premium cabin, the Tata Osprey is equally at home navigating urban streets as it is exploring South Africa’s diverse and adventurous landscapes. Furthermore, reinforcing TMPV’s commitment to delivering products with world-class safety to South African customers, is the fact that the Tata Osprey comes with five-star NCAP safety rating.

The Tata Osprey arrives as Tata Motors continues to build momentum in South Africa, expanding its product portfolio with compelling new offerings designed for local customers and conditions.

“Since returning to South Africa, we have achieved encouraging growth and strong customer acceptance. The introduction of the Tata Osprey marks another important milestone in our journey and reflects our commitment to offering exciting, world-class products to the South African market,” concludes Allison.
