  • The iCAUR 03T launches locally as a fully electric SUV offered in two trims: 2WD and AWD.
  • The 2WD delivers 135 kW and a 431 km NEDC-estimated range, while the AWD increases output to 205 kW and offers up to 436 km of NEDC-estimated range.
  • Both trims are well specified, with features including a 15.6-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 540-degree surround-view camera, and DC fast charging from 10% to 80% in 30 minutes.

After months of anticipation, iCAUR, the new-energy subbrand under the Chery Global umbrella, has officially launched the 03T electric SUV. Positioned above the V23, the 03T will initially be offered locally in two trims, with each model giving customers a choice of drive configuration and equipment level. Available in 2WD and AWD derivatives, the 03T brings a strong blend of capability, comfort, and advanced technology to the new-energy SUV segment.

Visually, the 03T brings a bold and contemporary take on rugged SUV design, pairing strong geometric lines with a confident, upright stance. Its squared-off proportions and pronounced wheel arches give it a purposeful, adventure-ready character, while slim lighting elements and clean surfacing add a modern, high-tech edge. Beneath its retro-inspired skin, a unique all-aluminium multi-cavity cage body contributes to long-term corrosion resistance of up to 30 years, while reducing weight by more than 30% and lowering energy consumption by 3%. Further enhancing the aesthetic are LED head- and taillights, along with a panoramic glass sunroof, which brings additional natural light into the cabin and contributes to a more open, airy feel.

The following paint colours will be offered on the 03T:

  • Khaki White
  • Carbon Crystal Black
  • Cyan Grey
  • Starlight Silver
  • Toronto Red

The 03T 2WD is powered by a single electric motor positioned on the rear axle, drawing energy from a 65.69 kWh battery. This setup delivers 135 kW and 220 N.m of torque, allowing the rear-wheel-drive model to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.5 seconds and reach a top speed of 150 km/h. The more powerful AWD derivative is also limited to 150 km/h, but reaches 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds thanks to a dual-motor setup that delivers combined outputs of 205 kW and 385 N.m. The AWD variant also benefits from a larger 69.77 kWh battery.

Both models are fitted with stylish 19-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 245/55 tyres, with ventilated disc brakes at the front and disc brakes at the rear. The 03T delivers refined ride quality and composed handling courtesy of its MacPherson front suspension and rear multi-link suspension setup.

In terms of range, the 03T 2WD offers an NEDC-estimated driving range of 431 km, while the AWD model extends this slightly to 436 km. Both models use energy efficiently, with consumption figures of 18.3 kWh/100 km for the 2WD and 19.9 kWh/100 km for the AWD. When connected to a DC fast charger, both 03T variants can be charged from 10% to 80% in just 30 minutes.

The 2WD is equipped with four driving modes, namely Eco, Normal, Sport, and Custom. The AWD expands this to nine modes, comprising Eco, Normal, Sport, Custom, Slippery, Beach, Muddy, Bumpy, and All-Road Mode.

The generous 2,715 mm wheelbase provides ample legroom for five passengers across two rows of seating, complemented by a spacious luggage compartment offering 450 litres of boot space. A 60:40 split-folding rear backrest further enhances practicality, increasing total utility space to 1,238 litres when additional load capacity is required. The rear storage box provides an additional 40 litres of storage space.

In addition to its spacious layout, the 03T’s cabin is trimmed with high-quality materials and equipped with the latest luxury, convenience, and safety features.

2WD models are equipped with climate control, black leather upholstery, ambient lighting for front-row passengers, and electrically adjustable front seats with heating and ventilation. The driver’s seat also features power-operated four-way lumbar adjustment. AWD models build on this specification with a massage function for the front occupants, as well as an electrically adjustable leg rest for the front passenger.

The 03T range is well-equipped in terms of technology and infotainment. Both models feature a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment display, which houses the controls for various vehicle functions, including Bluetooth connectivity, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The 2WD variant is fitted with an eight-speaker iCAUR audio system, while the 03T AWD gains a 12-speaker Infinity sound system for enhanced clarity and a more immersive listening experience. Both trims also receive voice command functionality, allowing the driver to adjust vehicle settings without taking their hands off the steering wheel. Three USB ports, one USB Type-C port, and a 50-watt wireless device charger are standard on both models.

On the safety front, the 03T is equipped with a comprehensive suite of active and passive safety features. Six airbags, comprising dual front, front side, and side curtain airbags, are fitted to both models, along with driver assistance systems such as ESP, traction control, EBA, and several other features. ISOFIX anchorage points are also included, together with front and rear parking sensors and a 540-degree surround-view camera system.

Active Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) found on the 03T include:

  • Automatic Emergency Braking with Vehicle, Pedestrian & Bicycle Recognition
  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Traffic Jam Assist
  • Lane Departure Warning & Prevention
  • Lane-Keep Assist
  • Blind Spot Detection
  • Front Collision Warning
  • Reverse Collision Warning
  • Door Opening Warning
  • Drive Away Reminder

“The new 03T is a very clear expression of what iCAUR stands for: an electric SUV with strong visual character and the technology to make every journey easier,” said Shannon Gahagan, National Brand and Marketing Manager at iCAUR South Africa and OMODA & JAECOO South Africa. “Its design gives it a distinctive presence, but the real strength of the 03T is how it combines that personality with comfort, space, safety, and a choice of electric drivetrains suited to different customer needs.”

The all-new iCAUR 03T will be available in South African showrooms from 28 May 2026. Offered in 2WD and AWD, the 03T provides a straightforward choice between efficient rear-wheel-drive electric mobility and enhanced all-wheel-drive capability.

03T models are supported by an eight-year/200,000 km vehicle warranty, an eight-year/160,000 km power battery warranty for the first owner, and a five-year/100,000 km service plan. Customers will also receive roadside assistance for eight years/200,000 km, reinforcing iCAUR’s focus on ownership confidence and long-term value.
