As South Africa’s new vehicle market continues its upward momentum, marking 20 consecutive months of year-on-year growth. May also saw Jetour achieve another record month, with 2 020 vehicle sales, accounting for approximately 5.5% of all new passenger vehicles sold. This milestone follows another landmark achievement for the brand, with Jetour becoming the first Chinese automotive manufacturer to ever claim the South African Car of the Year title, awarded to the Jetour T2 last week.

Last month, Jetour retained its 8th-place position in South Africa’s new vehicle sales rankings for the second consecutive month. Having first launched locally in September 2024, Jetour entered the country’s top 15 automotive brands just 10 months later.

“What a month May has been for the brand, marked by a series of proud accolades,” says Nic Campbell, Vice President of Jetour South Africa. “The pace of growth we’ve experienced reflects increasing consumer confidence in our brand, our products and our dealer network.”

From a network of 40 dealerships just 18 months ago to more than 55 nationwide today, Jetour has maintained a strong focus on delivering a fully integrated ownership experience. This includes dedicated after-sales support, as well as a centrally managed parts and service infrastructure, located at a digital-first parts warehouse in Midrand. Designed to support fast, efficient and reliable nationwide distribution, this facility enables streamlined inventory management and order processing through integrated digital systems, helping dealers access required parts quickly and reducing vehicle downtime for customers.

Jetour’s range in South Africa currently consists of six models, spanning both internal combustion and PHEV models. The line-up includes the Jetour Dashing, a stylish five-seater SUV designed for urban driving with a strong focus on technology and premium design, starting from R439 900, and the X70 Plus, a more spacious seven-seater option positioned as a versatile family SUV with generous cabin space and comfort-focused features, from R454 900.

In the more rugged and adventure-oriented segment, the Jetour T1 delivers enhanced off-road capability and performance from R514 900, while the South African Car of the Year winner, the Jetour T2, builds on this positioning with a more premium, adventure-ready SUV offering, starting from R569 900. The T-Series is also available in a range of derivatives.

Expanding into electrified mobility, Jetour recently introduced the T1 i-DM and T2 i-DM plug-in hybrid models, combining the T-Series’ performance and capability with improved efficiency and electric driving capability. The T1 i-DM is priced from R689 900, while the T2 i-DM starts from around R779 900, marking the brand’s entry into South Africa’s new-energy vehicle segment.

Complementing the increasing popularity of this growing SUV brand, is its comprehensive after-sales package. Together, these cover major vehicle components, routine maintenance, and long-term engine protection, ensuring customers benefit from predictable ownership costs and sustained support well beyond the point of purchase.

“Jetour is here to stay, and our long-term focus remains on staying relevant by delivering vehicles and after-sales support that meet the needs and expectations of local consumers,” Campbell says.
