  • Chery sold 2.81 million vehicles in 2025 (+7.8%), with exports hitting historic highs and Chery retaining its position as China’s top passenger vehicle exporter for the 23rd consecutive year.
  • New energy vehicle sales surged 54.9% to 903,847 units, driven by models like Tiggo 7 CSH and Tiggo 8 CSH, alongside major advances in AI, intelligent tech, and low-carbon solutions.
  • Chery continues to expand rapidly into Europe and posted record sales in South Africa, while new business ventures achieved commercial success worldwide.

With the December 2025 sales figure of 244,928 vehicles announced, Chery Group has successfully concluded the year. The Group’s cumulative vehicle sales reached 2,806,393 units, representing a year-on-year increase of 7.8%. Among these, Chery Automobile sold 2,631,382 vehicles throughout the year, an 8% increase compared to the previous year. Chery Group has achieved historic highs across four key areas (total sales, exports, new energy vehicles, and quality performance), delivering a robust report card marked by these breakthroughs.

Local sales continue to gain momentum, with Chery South Africa reporting steadily rising figures throughout 2025. Driven by an expanding SUV lineup—including several new hybrid models and the introduction of the range-topping Tiggo 9—the brand’s performance has reached new heights. November 2025 marked a record month, with 2,506 units sold, the strongest sales result in Chery South Africa’s history.

December exports totalled 144,430 vehicles, a year-on-year increase of 46.8%, marking the first time monthly exports exceeded 140,000 units. Annual exports reached 1,344,020 vehicles, up 17.4% year-on-year. Cumulative exports have now reached 5.85 million vehicles, setting three records for Chinese automakers in single-month, annual, and cumulative exports. Chery has maintained this position as China’s top passenger vehicle exporter for 23 consecutive years.

Behind this robust performance lies Chery’s forward-looking layout and continuous efforts across several strategic tracks, including new fuel vehicles, new energy vehicles, new global expansion, new business adventures, and new technologies.

“As Chery reaches new milestones globally, South Africa continues to play a key role in that journey,” commented Tony Liu, CEO for Chery South Africa. “Strong local demand and SA Car of the Year semi-finalist status for the Tiggo 7 CSH and Tiggo 9 reflect the brand’s evolution toward more advanced, premium and electrified mobility solutions.”

New fuel + new energy yields results

Annual sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) reached 903,847 units, a year-on-year increase of 54.9%. Both production scale and growth rate remain at the forefront of the industry.

The Chery Group adheres to a “fuel-electric synergy” approach, creating a diverse product matrix that meets the needs of global users. Guided by the “New Fuel” strategy, Chery has launched the new-generation Tiggo models and the Himla bakkie, offering electric-like experiences and smart features even in fuel-powered vehicles.

In the NEV sector, over 90% of the entirely new products launched in 2025 were NEVs. Star models such as the Tiggo 7 CSH and Tiggo 8 CSH performed exceptionally well, driving consecutive growth in the Group’s NEV sales and propelling it into the industry’s top tier.

New technologies secure the high ground

In 2025, Chery systematically showcased its innovations in intelligent, electric, and low-carbon technologies. It unveiled over 10 globally leading technologies, continuously expanding its super technology portfolio. Soon, Chery will host an AI Night to highlight its strategic deployment and latest breakthroughs in the field of artificial intelligence.

New global expansion accelerates integration

While leading in export scale, Chery is accelerating its entry into high-regulation markets such as Europe. Chery’s collaboration project in Spain, for example, has been called a “model of China-Spain cooperation.” To date, Chery has entered 15 European markets, including the UK, Spain, and Italy, earning praise from authoritative media such as the UK’s Carwow.

New business achieves commercial breakthrough

Chery focuses on future technologies, actively building a second growth curve around user ecosystems (including parts, finance, software subscriptions, and green energy), extending a third growth curve around core technologies, such as Robotaxis and humanoid robots.

The AiMOGA humanoid robot, Mornine, is the world’s first to obtain dual EU certifications for both software and hardware, and has completed mass production and delivery of over 300 units globally. It is already in use across more than 30 countries, including South Africa, achieving a closed loop in commercial application.
