  • Striking new design with wide grille, sculpted body and signature “Predator Eye” LED headlamps
  • Turbocharged 1.5-litre engine balances everyday performance with fuel efficiency
  • Advanced MG Pilot driver-assist suite with 360° camera and six airbags as standard on the Luxury Grade

Making its official debut at this year’s Festival of Motoring, the all-new MG ZS Pro is now on sale through MG Motor’s national dealer network. Designed to impress and engineered to perform, the striking ZS Pro is an expressive evolution of the brand’s popular compact SUV, combining confident styling, a premium digital cabin, turbocharged performance, and advanced safety – backed by MG’s exceptional value proposition for South African customers.

“With the introduction of the ZS Pro, we reaffirm MG’s long-term commitment to the local market,” says Sky Zhang, General Manager of MG Motor South Africa. “MG is about a joyful driving experience, smart technology, and real value that exceeds expectations – and the ZS Pro is our promise to South African drivers who want a car that’s as dynamic and forward-thinking as they are. ‘Power Your Life’ is the most fitting slogan for this newcomer.”

STYLING – DESIGNED TO IMPRESS

The ZS Pro makes a powerful first impression with its solid wide-frame grille, sculpted bodywork, and signature “Predator Eye” LED headlamps. Geometric LED tail lamps flow seamlessly with the body lines, creating a dynamic stance that sets it apart on the road. A sporty roof spoiler and sleek silver roof rails amplify its athletic vibe, while striking turbine-style 18-inch alloy wheels on the Luxury model and Italian-inspired ‘tele-dial’ 17-inch alloys on the Comfort trim, complete the look.

Compared to its smaller entry-level namesake, the ZS Pro has grown by 45mm in overall length and 30mm in width, while the wheelbase has been extended by 20mm. These expanded dimensions not only give the ZS Pro a more aggressive stance on the road but also results in increased passenger comfort and improved cargo capacity.

Customers can express their individuality thanks to the vibrant colour palette on offer: York White, Pearl Black, Blade Silver, Flare Red, Hamstead Grey and St. Moritz Blue.

INTERIOR – REFINED SPACE, MODERN TECH

Step inside to a cabin that feels premium and tech-forward. A soft-touch dashboard and door trims with contrast stitching set the tone, while perforated simulated leather seats offer comfort and durability. The Luxury grade tops up the spec count with electric driver adjustment, seat heating and lumbar support.

A dual 12.3-inch display (10.25-inch for the Comfort) set-up merges a virtual instrument cluster with a full-colour infotainment screen featuring Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Physical buttons complement voice control for safe, intuitive operation. Practical touches – including multiple storage compartments, boot hooks, umbrella slots and up to 1,457 litres of cargo space (with seats folded) – make the ZS Pro ideal for families and active lifestyles.

PERFORMANCE – ENHANCED POWER DELIVERED WITH PRECISION

Under the bonnet, the 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine delivers 125kW and 275Nm, sprinting from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.5 seconds while maintaining a stellar combined fuel consumption of just 6.9 L/100km. Intelligent tech such as Variable Geometry Turbocharging (VGT) and Continuous Variable Valve Timing (CVVT) help it respond quickly at low revs and maintain efficiency at higher loads.

Paired with a high-performing CVT transmission and a robust steel belt rated to 325 Nm, the system delivers seamless, linear power delivery with minimal interruptions. The combination of a turbocharged engine and CVT gives drivers the best of both worlds: the instant torque and responsiveness of a modern turbo engine, and the refined, uninterrupted acceleration character associated with CVTs balances an engaging driving experience with fuel efficiency, making the ZS Pro perfect for daily city driving and freeway cruising alike.

RIDE & HANDLING – CONFIDENT AND COMFORTABLE

MG’s UK engineering team have tuned the ZS Pro’s chassis to deliver a balance of comfort and control, providing drivers with a ride experience that strikes a good balance between firm and absorbent which is akin to European expectations. The MacPherson front / torsion-beam rear suspension setup absorbs South African road imperfections with composure, giving a supple yet planted and sure-footed ride even on less-than-perfect tar. Much attention has been given to steering feel and feedback, with the ZS Pro offering up the weighted feedback drivers will appreciate on freeways without compromising on easy manoeuvrability in typical city settings. Combined with Bosch-integrated braking, the result is a confident, stable drive that remains comfortable for everyday commuting, long-distance cruising, and the occasional spirited cornering.

SAFETY – 360° PROTECTION, SMART CONTROL

Safety is a core strength of the ZS Pro. Its high-strength steel body meets European standards and comes with six airbags (Luxury trim) or four airbags (Comfort trim). MG Pilot’s advanced driver assistance features – standard on the higher Luxury-grade – include:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW) & Autonomous Emergency Braking
  • Lane Departure Warning (LDW) & Lane Keep Assist (LKA)
  • Traffic Jam Assist (TJA)
  • Blind Spot Detection (BSD) & Rear Cross Traffic Alert (RCTA)
  • 360° HD camera with dynamic parking lines

Together with Electronic Stability Program (ESP), Hill Hold Control (HHC) and Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) which are standard across the board, the ZS Pro offers one of the most comprehensive safety suites in its class.

GRADE WALK

Available in Comfort and in Luxury grades, the all-new MG ZS Pro is designed to showcase MG’s commitment to offering South African customers premium features at a highly competitive price point.

Standard specifications across both grades are exceptionally high and include:

  • Signature “Predator Eye” LED projector headlamps with follow-me-home function

PRICING, MAINTENANCE & WARRANTY

“We’ve listened to our customers, and we are confident that South Africans will appreciate how the all-new ZS Pro’s premium value positioning brings together stand-out design, advanced safety, and the spirit of adventure that MG drivers across the globe love,” Zhang concludes. “This new model presents the next step toward our goal of offering South African consumers a vehicle that will exceed expectations.”
