  • Increased performance with 245kW of power and 420 Nm of torque
  • Torque splitter and dynamic plus mode for agile handling
  • Expressive design and selectable daytime running light signatures

Audi South Africa introduces the new Audi S3 Sportback and S3 Sedan with increased performance, a torque splitter, advanced driving dynamics, and a sharpened design. More than just a product upgrade, the latest Audi S3 delivers greater output, innovative technology, and distinctive styling that underline its position as a premium compact performance model.

Stronger than ever: 2.0 TFSI with 245 kW

With the latest product upgrade, the 2.0 TFSI engine now delivers 245 kW and 420 Nm of torque. This increase of 32 kW and 20 Nm results in stronger acceleration and assured pulling power. The sprint from 0 to 100 km/h is achieved in just 4.7 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 250 km/h. Maximum torque is available across a broad band between 2,100 and 5,500 rpm, ensuring effortless performance in every driving situation.

The seven-speed S tronic transmission has been refined to provide sharper take-off and quicker gear shifts. With enhanced turbocharger pre-loading and optimised throttle response, the car feels more immediate and engaging, whether in everyday traffic or under full acceleration.

quattro technology with torque splitter

Following the RS 3, the torque splitter is now also available in the S3, increasing both agility and stability. This technology enables fully variable torque distribution between the rear wheels. The torque splitter uses an electronically controlled multiple disk clutch on each drive shaft to optimally distribute the torque between the rear wheel on the inside and the outside of the curve – depending on the driving situation and the chosen Audi drive select mode.

Dynamic plus: a new driving mode

In addition to the familiar profiles (auto, comfort, dynamic, individual, and efficiency), Audi drive select now includes dynamic plus mode, which – as the name suggests – offers especially high driving dynamics. In this setting, torque is channelled primarily to the outer rear wheel, generating a controlled oversteer effect. Engine and transmission mapping is sharpened further, while the idle speed is raised to improve off-the-line performance.

Suspension tuned for accuracy and stability

The new Audi S3 benefits from several detailed suspension refinements that enhance both agility and control. Wishbones with stiffer bearings and new pivot bearings allow for increased negative wheel camber, improving steering response and providing greater lateral grip when cornering. Progressive steering has also been recalibrated, delivering more precision particularly around the centre position for sharper handling.

The S sport suspension is fitted as standard and lowers the body by 15 mm compared with the Audi A3. The optional S sport suspension with adaptive dampers has been specially tuned to work in harmony with the torque splitter and the individual Audi drive select modes. A new generation of Electronic Stabilisation Control has also been introduced, with wheel-selective torque control further developed to subtly brake the inside wheels during cornering. Traction and deceleration behaviour have also been refined, resulting in dynamic turn-in, more balanced handling, and improved stability at the limit.

More grip and control: wheels and brakes

The new Audi S3 is fitted as standard with 19-inch wheels.

Three wheel design options are available for customers to choose from.

The increased driving dynamics mean increased demand on the brakes. For this reason, the model upgrade for the S3 has been equipped with larger ventilated brake disks on the front axle, which are perforated to provide a visual highlight. The 18-inch steel brake now measures 357 mm in diameter and, at 34 mm, is four mm thicker than before.

The two-pistons calipers at the front are new too. They further improve braking performance, as do larger pads and larger friction surface of the disks, which have a significantly higher thermal and thus also a higher load capacity.

Design with expressive presence

With this model upgrade, the Audi S3 presents an even sportier and more focused appearance. The hexagonal frameless Singleframe grille now features a flatter and wider structure, highlighted by L-shaped design elements that emphasise the bold proportions. Alongside this, the large angular side air intakes enhance the sense of width, while a striking front spoiler with two vertical struts, inspired by motorsport, visually lowers the stance of the car.

Detail, Colour: Daytona Grey matt

At the rear, the redesigned bumper gives the S3 a more dynamic character than ever. The structure of the Singleframe, with its distinctive L-wings, is echoed in the glossy black rear apron positioned above the diffuser. This section is divided into two parts for an S-specific look, which is particularly striking when combined with the vertical side reflectors — a design element inspired by Audi RS models. The athletic impression is completed by four tailpipes, a hallmark of S models. For customers seeking an even greater sensory experience, the optional performance exhaust system with a titanium silencer produces a more resonant and voluminous sound.

The exterior design is further accentuated by new expressive metallic paint finishes, including District Green, Ascari Blue, and Progressive Red. For those seeking greater individuality, Audi exclusive provides a curated selection of bespoke colours. For the first time, a polar matt Daytona Grey finish is available for the S3 range.

Two South African derivatives

The Audi S3 is available in South Africa in both Sportback and Sedan bodystyle:

  • Audi S3 Sportback TFSI 245 kW quattro S tronic
  • Audi S3 Sedan TFSI 245 kW quattro S tronic

Standard equipment highlights include: Matrix LED headlights, a panoramic sunroof, 19-inch wheels, S sport suspension, red brake calipers, Park Assist, Side Assist, SONOS premium 3D sound, and sport seats with leather and synthetic leather upholstery.

Lighting and personalisation

Like the redesigned Singleframe, the lighting design is significantly flatter, emphasising the width of the Audi S3. The 24-pixel elements that make up the digital daytime running lights in the Matrix LED headlights are now arranged in three rows on the upper edge of the housing. For the first time in the Audi S3 range, drivers can select up to four digital daytime running light signatures via the MMI system. Each design offers its own expression of character, with unique coming home and leaving home animations.

Interior refinement

The cabin reflects the Audi S3’s progressive spirit with new ambient lighting, a redesigned gear shifter, and precision details such as laser-cut illuminated fabric panels in the doors. A black headlining, stainless steel pedals, illuminated door sills, and contoured flat-bottomed leather steering wheel underline the sporty atmosphere. Sport seats with integrated headrests provide lateral support. New textured inlays in aluminium or carbon fibre offer further personalisation.

Interior

Digital and connected

Technology highlights include a 10.1-inch touch display, Audi virtual cockpit, and an inductive smartphone charger all come as standard. In addition to the two front USB C charging ports in the center console, there are two additional ports in the rear as standard.

Optional features such as MMI navigation plus, head-up display, and access to the in-car app store expand digital capability.

Packages for added comfort

  • Comfort Package Pro: electrically adjustable heated mirrors with memory feature, and electric front seats with memory feature.
  • Climate Control Package: three-zone automatic air conditioning with heated front seats.
  • Infotainment Package Pro: Audi virtual cockpit plus, head-up display, MMI navigation, and Audi connect functionality.

South African pricing and availability

The new Audi S3 is available now at Audi Dealerships across South Africa:

  • Audi S3 Sportback TFSI 245 kW quattro S tronic: R1,091,100
  • Audi S3 Sedan TFSI 245 kW quattro S tronic: R1,106,100

All derivatives include a 5-year/100,000 km Audi Freeway Plan. Finance options are available through Audi Financial Services, including Audi Assured.
