It’s a new SUV series that embodies ruggedness, capability, and adventure-readiness, offering not just a vehicle, but a lifestyle. The new Jetour T- series was officially launched tonight at the Grand Parade in Cape Town, an event that encompassed all that Jetour has come to represent: innovation, style, and the promise of unforgettable journeys.

Attended by media, dealer partners and stakeholders, the launch introduced both the Jetour T1 and T2 models, which will officially go on sale mid-November at over 55 Jetour dealerships across Southern Africa. The T-Series, already available in numerous markets globally, has become the off-road vehicle of choice in the SUV segment. With their distinctive blend of style, performance, and comfort, the T1 and T2 embody Jetour’s ‘Travel+’ philosophy, showcasing the brand’s commitment to delivering an unparalleled driving experience.

The evening saw keynote addresses by Jetour International’s President Ke Chuandeng, Alderman James Vos, and The Department of International Relations and Cooperation Deputy Director General, Clayton Monyela. Jetour South Africa’s Vice President, Nic Campbell, took the audience through each model and Managing Director, Luo Yuanran, had the privilege of announcing the official pricing for the T-Series.

“Since Jetour first entered the South African market last year, there’s been incredible anticipation for the T-Series. We’re thrilled to be launching both the T1 and T2 simultaneously today, a move that we believe will change the way people experience SUVs in South Africa. These models deliver everything the market’s been asking for: affordable luxury, striking design, premium features, and the peace of mind that comes with reliable parts availability and top-tier customer service,” says Campbell. “When we first launched in September 2024, the response exceeded our expectations, and we anticipate an even stronger reception for these new models.”

The Jetour T1

The compact, stylish, and versatile Jetour T1 has been designed for city streets and beyond, with four T1 models available, catering to a range of drivers and lifestyles: the 1.5TD 2-wheel drive Edge, 1.5TD  2-wheel drive Aspire, the 2.0TD 4-wheel drive Xplora and the top of the range 4-wheel drive 2.0TD Odyssey.

All T1 models feature 540° panoramic view cameras, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring, and LED lighting including front fog lights, automatic headlights, and rear taillights. Practical features such as electrically adjustable heated mirrors, roof racks, and privacy glass, enhance convenience and style.

The T1 offers efficient and powerful engines, with the 1.5TD (125kW) and 2.0TD (180kW) paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. The XWD intelligent 4-wheel drive system, high ground clearance and 8 driving modes (Xplora and Odyssey only), including Sport, Snow, Mud, Sand and X-mode, deliver adaptability across terrains.

Inside, the T1 combines tech and comfort with a 15.6” infotainment screen (Xplora and Odyssey only), dual-layer soundproof glass for a quiet cabin, cloud-like ergonomic seats, and a spacious interior with flexible storage. The Odyssey model features a Sony 9-speaker surround sound system for an immersive audio experience.

The T1 Edge is priced at R514 900, followed by the T1 Aspire at R544 900, the T1 Xplora at R594 900, and the flagship T1 Odyssey at R634 900.

The Jetour T2

The more rugged and adventure-ready Jetour T2, combines the agility of a compact SUV with the versatility needed for weekend getaways, delivering off-road performance and sophisticated comfort. Jetour is bringing three exciting T2 variants to South Africa, designed for style, performance, and versatility. The lineup includes the 2-wheel drive 1.5TD Aspire with 125kW power and 270Nm torque, and two 4-wheel drive options: the 2.0TD Xplora and 2.0TD Odyssey – both delivering 180kW power and 375Nm torque. The Odyssey also features generous dimensions of 4785 x 2006 x 1880mm for added space and comfort. All T2 models come with a 70L petrol tank and are available in Onyx Black, Glacier White, Aqua Green, and Lunar Silver.

Safety, convenience, and technology are standard across the T2 range, including 540° panoramic view cameras, rear parking sensors, tyre pressure monitoring, and LED lighting throughout.

Practical touches such as electrically adjustable heated mirrors, roof racks, privacy glass, illuminated door sills, and a space-saver spare wheel (Aspire only) enhance everyday usability.

The new Jetour T2 range is priced at R 569 900 for the Aspire, the T2 Xplora at R 639 900, and the flagship T2 Odyssey R 679 900.

The South African T-Series launch was also marked by a series of exciting formalities, including a celebration of the first customers of the T1 and T2 models in South Africa, with these new owners receiving symbolic ‘keys’ along with replica scale models. The DHL Stormers ceremony featured a special signing event and the exchange of gifts between Jetour and the DHL Stormers management and players. Last month saw Jetour officially announced as the three-year vehicle sponsor for the DHL Stormers, the local team that is to date unbeaten this season.

Another highlight on the evening was the announcement that Jetour will be providing 70 Jetour T-series vehicles to be used for the upcoming G20 Summit in Johannesburg, a meeting of 20 of the world’s largest economies representing approximately 85% of global GDP. This was marked by a ceremonial lighting of the protea.

Entertainment to end off this exciting launch included performances by dynamic electronic music trio GoodLuck, celebrated trumpeter Mo-T, and prominent South African DJ, Vin Deyzel.

Jetour entered the South African market in September 2024 with the 5-seater Jetour Dashing and 7-seater Jetour X70 Plus and has made remarkable in roads within the local automotive market, achieving 12th place in national passenger car sales rankings within a year. The brand’s success within such a short space of time locally can be attributed to this premium offering, supported by a strong dealer network, readily accessible parts, and widespread industry recognition, including achieving Gold Status in the 2025 NADA Dealer Satisfaction Index (DSI), a strong reflection of its dedication to dealer network support and customer service.
