Following the successful official brand re-launch by the Salvador Caetano Group, JMC South Africa is proud to announce the arrival of the All-New JMC Vigus. Embodying the core philosophy of being “Built for More,” this latest addition to the South African bakkie segment combines rugged durability with premium refinement to meet the evolving needs of modern drivers.

A Bold New Presence

The All-New Vigus commands attention with a mecha-inspired front face and muscular body lines. Measuring 5335mm x 1882mm x 1834mm, its large overall dimensions provide a subtle yet premium aesthetic that stands out both on the worksite and in the city.

Functionality remains at the heart of the design, featuring:

  • Amongst Best-in-Class Cargo Capacity: An all-new cargo bed designed for maximum utility.
  • Loading Efficiency: A 750mm low bed height improves loading efficiency by 15%, while rear doors that open to 75° allow for the effortless handling of large items.

“Fortress-Level” Engineering

Safety and longevity are non-negotiable. The Vigus utilizes a body composed of 68% high-strength steel, adhering to rigorous production standards. The chassis, crafted from 420-grade steel, offers a bending stiffness of 1150 N/mm, creating what JMC engineers call a “fortress-level” chassis for superior stability.

To endure South Africa’s diverse climates, all outer panels are 100% galvanized steel, having passed a reinforced 60-day corrosion resistance test to ensure performance in coastal and high-altitude regions.

Rugged Can Be Refined

Inside, the Vigus proves that a workhorse doesn’t have to compromise on comfort. The cabin features ergonomic seats from the world-renowned brand Lear, offering excellent support for long-distance travel.

The interior is a hub of modern technology, boasting:

  • A 12.8” large touchscreen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
  • A 9” floating instrument cluster and a two-spoke steering wheel.
  • Enhanced safety features including Hill-Start Assist (HLA), Hill Descent Control (HDC), and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System.
  • Superior Space: Rear passengers enjoy optimized comfort with 822mm of row spacing and a nearly flat floor hump of only 17mm.

Unmatched Power and Durability

Powered by a 2.5L Turbo Diesel engine, the Vigus delivers a maximum power of 123 kW and peak torque of 430 Nm. This low-rpm, high-torque characteristic ensures impressive climbing ability even under full load.

The Vigus has been validated over 4 million kilometres of intensive testing, the equivalent of circling the Earth 100 times, to ensure it lives up to the promise of unmatched durability.

Pricing and Local Availability

The All-New JMC Vigus is now available through JMC’s growing dealer network in South Africa in three distinct configurations:
