In 2016, the Renault KWID arrived in South Africa and reshaped expectations of what an entry-level vehicle could be. With its SUV-inspired design, accessible price point and distinctive personality, the KWID introduced a new generation of drivers to the Renault brand and quickly established itself as one of the country’s most recognisable urban mobility solutions.

Over the past decade, the KWID has evolved from a new entrant in the market to a trusted presence on South African roads. For first-time car buyers, young professionals, entrepreneurs and growing families, the vehicle has played a meaningful role in enabling independence, opportunity and progress. More than simply providing transport, the KWID has become part of everyday South African life – present in the journeys that mark personal milestones, ambitions and new beginnings.

To commemorate this milestone, Renault South Africa proudly introduces the KWID 10th Anniversary Limited Edition – a special edition that honours ten years of accessible innovation, bold design and exceptional value.

Limited to only 300 units nationwide, this anniversary model celebrates the legacy of the KWID while introducing distinctive design elements and refined detailing. Built for drivers who value individuality and style, the limited edition reflects the confident spirit that has defined the KWID since its introduction.

For many South Africans, the KWID represents more than a vehicle. It represents a first major purchase, the freedom of personal mobility and the ability to pursue opportunity on one’s own terms. Over the years, the model has helped over 72 000 drivers take that important first step, offering low running costs, practical technology and a design that comfortably fits into the diverse lifestyles of modern South Africans. While the KWID has remained a pillar of Renault’s cost-efficient offering, the Renault Triber has consistently been the brand’s best‑selling model, further reinforcing Renault’s commitment to delivering versatile, family‑friendly vehicles that meet the evolving needs of local customers.

The KWID 10th Anniversary Limited Edition pays tribute to these journeys and to the customers who have shaped the vehicle’s story.

Exclusive Design & Feature Highlights

Based on the Techno trim, the anniversary edition introduces a series of distinctive enhancements.

Exterior

  • Signature orange accent detailing
  • Dual-tone exterior with a contrasting black roof
  • Unique black flex wheels with bespoke design
  • Piano black exterior mirrors

Interior

  • Metal mustard detailing across door panels and infotainment housing
  • Leather steering wheel with distinctive orange stitching
  • Special branded seats featuring the 10-Year Anniversary signature

Technical Highlights

Engine

The anniversary edition retains Renault’s trusted and efficient compact powertrain:

  • 1.0L Naturally Aspirated (NA) 3‑cylinder engine
  • Power output: 50 kW
  • Torque: 91 Nm
  • Fuel consumption (combined): 4.9 L/100 km (MT & AMT)

Engine shared across the Evolution, Techno and Climber models

This lightweight yet robust engine is engineered for optimal efficiency in urban environments, offering smooth power delivery, low running cost and dependable everyday performance.

Transmission

  • Available in Manual and AMT (Automated Manual Transmission)
  • AMT offered exclusively on the Techno and Climber derivatives
  • The AMT transmission provides seamless, clutch‑free driving convenience while maintaining the KWID’s renowned fuel efficiency

Continuing the KWID’s legacy of delivering outstanding value without compromising style or reliability, pricing will be as follows:

  • Kwid 1.0L Limited Edition 10-Year (Manual Transmission): R209 799 incl. VAT
  • Kwid 1.0L AMT Limited Edition 10-Year: R219 999 incl. VAT

As Renault South Africa marks this milestone, the celebration extends beyond the vehicle itself. It is a celebration of the people who have made the KWID part of their lives.

“As we commemorate this milestone, we celebrate not just the vehicle, but the people who have made KWID what it is today – a trusted companion on our roads. Whether it’s helping someone get to their first day at work, transporting a small family, or enabling late‑night study sessions and early‑morning hustles, the KWID has been there for journeys both big and small,” said Lee-Anne Stanton, GM: Marketing & Communication at Renault SA.

The KWID 10th Anniversary Limited Edition stands as a tribute to that shared journey and as Renault South Africa looks ahead to the next decade, the brand remains committed to delivering accessible, stylish and dependable mobility for South Africans.

The new KWID 10th Anniversary Limited Edition is now officially on sale. It comes standard with a 2‑year/30,000 km service plan, bundled with a 5‑year/150,000 km warranty, and is available at Renault dealerships nationwide.

Renault South Africa also continues to offer the full KWID range that is engineered to deliver exceptional value and the full KWID line‑up is outlined below:
